Why World Government, Religions, Leaders Cannot Solve Our Problems

Good and joyful day today to all Christian brothers and sisters on this the day the Lord has made. Pull up a chair, pour yourself a cup of coffee, or tea, or milk, or whatever is your favorite, we’re about to slice a piece of the Bread of Life, the Word of God. And today’s slice comes from:   Luke 12:31     But seek His kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the Kingdom.

Well now, how about that…. I am not Brother Dick, or Pastor Dick, or Evangelist Dick, but…. I am King Dick.  WOW ! Realize now, the most outstanding element distinguishing the Kingdom of God from every other kingdom is the concept that all of its citizens are relatives of the King…. and are kings themselves.

Well, Kings, I hope that got your attention, because I want you to hear the next statement. The greatest threat to the future of the world is religion. Let me repeat that – The greatest threat to the future of the world is religion.  Now I have come to realize that many people gasp when I, a minister of God’s Word, say the I don’t like religion. First, I must always add that religion is man-made and is not God-made. But, on with the thought behind such a message title.

More wars have been fought in the name of religion than any other influence. Millions have died over the past 2000 years under the destructive hand of religious zeal. Misplaced and misguided religious passion has produced such historical scars as the Crusades, the Inquisition, ethnic cleansing and the horror of Holocaust.

Why, you may ask, is religion it more powerful than politics, military arms, and scientific progression ? From the cave man to the progression of cultures, into the industrial revolution and further into the scientific and computer age; we are no better than or different from our ancestors of old. The only change that has come about is the sophistication of our tools and weapons. In other words; we are smarter but not wiser; we live longer but not healthier. We have more but enjoy less; we can go to the moon but not able to go home to a good family. We have more information at hand but know less about life. We protect whales but not our children. We have more religion but less love. We blame others for our choices and  look to ourselves for solutions to problems we create.

Where do we go from here ?  What is the answer?  Why can’t we just live together ? Why are our children killing themselves in the streets.

Bro. Dick, why aren’t you preaching out of the Bible like you usually do on Sundays I’ll tell you why, Mr. King – Mrs. King, which you are. I didn’t say that, the Bible did.

I’m trying to get the point across that it makes sense to conclude that if our world has no answer to the questions that it asks and no solutions to the problems it creates, then it might be wise to look to Another world.

Remember what King Solomon said over 3000 years ago?  It’s in Proverbs 23:7  As a man thinks so is he.  He must have understood what Psychologist today expound.  When an idea is conceived it is called a concept. Concepts are the material that dreams are made of and they serve as the substance for living and interpreting life. Everything humans have made or invented was first preceded by an idea.

Well, well, well; now I’m beginning to understand how religions can become so powerful and controlling. We have become very well educated in the knowledge of the human body – to names, purposes, and functions of all of its intricate parts and organs. However, we have too often not though enough about the origin and purpose of each of us; even those who are Kings.

In His inherent nature of love the King of Heaven, our Father God, was motivated to create “spirit children,” called mankind, to share His Kingdom rulers-ship. From the very beginning, God’s plan for mankind centered in the fact that God desired to have a personal relationship with man and vice versa.  It was never God’s desire to establish a religion. Religion is man’s response to a deep spiritual vacuum in the recessed of his soul. Notice, I said his soul; not his spirit. The word religion denotes belief systems, creeds, or convictions. They, then, are manifested in the development of an array of traditions, rituals, and cultural practices.

This brings us to a question: “Why is the desire to control our environment and circumstances so overpowering to humanity ?  Because man was created to exercise power and designed to manage it. God’s plan, however, was to do this thought a family of “spirit-children,” he would call His sons. Bro. Dick, where did you get such an idea ?  Right out of Genesis

Why World Government, Religions, Leaders

Cannot Solve Our Problems

WOW !

Realize now, the most outstanding element distinguishing the Kingdom of God from every other kingdom is the concept that all of its citizens are relatives of the King…. and are kings themselves

With that said, let me tell you the title of today’s message. It is rather long ….

Why World Governments, Religions and Leaders Cannot Solve Our Problems.

Religion is not just a social, cultural, or ideological factor; but finds it power in the personal boardrooms of the soul of the individuals.

Religion is as old as mankind. Every culture has developed some form of religious ritual that attempts to satisfy an abstract vacuum in the cavity of the human soul, crying out for reason, purpose , and significance.

We have watched, over the eons of time, the creation of a variety of governmental systems including dictatorship, demigods, monarchies and tyrannies of socialism, , communism and imperialism; each seeking to make life better. Each have failed to provide the world we keep searching for.

After WW I we created the League of Nations to promote world peace. This pipe-dream ended with WW II. So world leaders made a second commitment, United Nations, dedicated to keep peace around the world. Results ? More wars after than before it’s inception.

Where do we go from here ? What is the answer? Why can’t we just live together ? Why are our children killing themselves in the streets.

Bro. Dick, why aren’t you preaching out of the Bible like you usually do on Sundays. I’ll tell you why, Mr. King – Mrs. King, which you are. I didn’t say that, the Bible did

Since the beginning of time the dream of a utopian society has motivated and sustained the passion of mankind. This is the conceived idea that their religion could become the answer to all our problems, and establish the “ideal world.” This, their ideology rules them because their ideology is the formation of ideas and thoughts and it becomes their philosophy, or way of thinking; and nothing else could be correct.

This leads to the utopia searched for…. as either a “just society” or “controlled society” or “individual freedom” or “self- determination,” etc.

Yes, so far this has sounded more like a course on psychology. But, just bear with me…. I’ll get to the meat of this message.

We get this idea from Matthew 25:34 Then the King will say to those on His right, “Come, you who are blessed by My Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

Right out of Genesis 1:26-27   Then God said, “let us make man in Our image, in Our likeness, and let them rule (that is have dominion over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So, God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him’ male and female He created them.

So, man was both “created” and “made.” Both words are important and different in the original Hebrew language. The word “created” is form the Hebrew word “bara” ( b-a-r-a ) which means to create from nothing. And the word make is from the Hebrew word asa ( a-s-a ) which means to form from something that is already created. There man is the combination of parts that were created from nothing and things that were already made.

When we read in scripture that man was made in the image of God the word “image” here is not referring to the physical likeness, but is translated for the Hebrew words that mean essential nature, characteristics and essence. Therefore that means that man is a “spirit being.” I always teach that man is as spirt, with a soul, that lives in a body. (the soul being the rational, immortal substance of man which enables him to think and reason; entangled with his education, parentage, life experiences, etc.

The creator said “let them have dominion over the earth.”  This is the basic foundation of the divine delegation of responsibility to us for the management and the ruler-ship over the earth to man. When God spoke these words, He established the conditions of His relationship to earth only through mankind. He did not say “let us have dominion over the earth.” That would have given Him legitimate access to earth without reference to mankind; but by these words He established mankind as the only legal authority on earth, with the power of attorney to act on His behalf. Did you hear that, Devil.

This then expresses why He created man, and His expectation of man’s behavior.

And here is an important piece of this pie. Over the fish of the sea, birds of the air, the livestock, earth, and all that creep upon the ground. This statement is crucial as it defines the nature and the boundaries of ruler-ship of mankind. It is critical to note that the human entity is not included in the framework of man’s dominion. Seems to me that God the Creator never intended man to rule over or dominate his own kind, but rather to rule the creation and resources of the earth.

But Bro. Dick what does the word “dominion” mean, if it does not include ruling over mankind ? Good question.   The concept of “kingdom dominion is meant to convey that mankind is intended to embody the nature of God on earth and serve as His divine representative in the physical world.

All of this may seem to be getting deeper than you wish at this time of morning. You’re busy putting on your make-up or shaving your face or selecting your “church” clothing, etc.                              Keep in mind, I am not a preacher as much as I am a teacher. This morning I’m trying to teach you something I think is important. That is…. what God is expecting of you and me for having created us. He has made us “kings” of this earth and expects us to act accordingly. Think of how you detest kings, dictators, presidents, who do not tend to their responsibilities but only think of their own gain. You and I don’t like it a bit. Then, I don’t think God likes it when we abdicate our kingship.

This is a concept echoed in the word of God to the entire nation of Israel through Moses when they were released from the oppression of the kingdom of Egypt under Pharaoh. Exodus 19 5:6 “Now if you obey me fully and keep My covenant, then out of all nations you will be My treasured possession. Although the whole earth is Mine, you will be for Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.

If I read this correctly – His purpose was to have His will doe and the heavenly kingdom come on earth just as it is in heaven.

Lets cautiously contemplate this dominion mandate as it is recorded in Genesis chapter one.

  • God gave man dominion over the earth.
  • God gave man dominion over creation and earth, but not other men.
  • God never gave man dominion over heaven.
  • God never gave man a religion, but a relationship.
  • God never promised man celestial heaven, but heaven on earth.

The most important relationship the first man, Adam, had when he arrived on earth was with heaven. His presence guaranteed communication and fellowship with the will, and mind, and intent and purposes of God and heaven so that God could execute His government’s will on earth.

In effect, Adam declared independence from his kingdom government, the empire of heaven and inso doing severed his relationship with the King of Heaven, abandoned his position as ambassador, and lost his dominion over earth. You might say he became an ambassador without portfolio, a king without a kingdom.

Think of it this way, Adam did not lose heaven when hi fell; rather, he lost dominion over earth. This is what God meant when he said in Genesis 2:!7   But you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surly die.

Ever since this calamity of man’s rebellion against his heavenly kingdom government, religion has been his vain attempt to return to God’s presence or to compensate for the loss. Therefore, religion represents every activity of mankind in its self-centered search for God and the kingdom, whether through Scientology, Islam, Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Shintoism, Unitarianism, atheism or any other “ism.” No matter how hard they try they can never find an infinite God by using finite human resources called religion. So, God launched a journey. He set out to find us. God is the chaser and we are the pursued.

Religion, therefore, is simply man’s search for God. No matter how committed, dedicated, loyal, faithful, zealous, active or complex our religious pursuit may be, as long as man is still searching, dissatisfied and desirous for more, he has not yet found the Kingdom. Religion is man’s substitute for Kingdom and that is why it will never satisfy him. Only the Kingdom can solve man’s eternal problem.

From a child I was cultured to embrace religion and not question why we did what my religion told or commanded us to do. Quite honestly, religion tends to keep you too busy to fill your assignment for the Kingdom. Perhaps with this understanding now the words of Jesus Christ can be understood: Matthew 5:3   Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Here he identified the truth that all humanity is spiritually “poor,” which means that they have a natural lack and an inherent need. He declared that the solution is not a religion but “the Kingdom.”

At this point, the ending of the first half of today’s message, I find that it is important to understand the past of man and to appreciate the present state of man’s journey, it is important to consider God’s original purpose and plan for His creation. God’s purpose in the beginning was to:

  • Establish a family of spirit sons
  • Establish a kingdom, not a religious organization;
  • Establish a kingdom of kings, not subjects;
  • Establish a commonwealth of citizens, not religious members;
  • Establish relationship with man, not a religion;
  • Extend His heavenly government to earth; and
  • Influence earth   from heaven but through mankind.

Looking at that list causes me to see how God’s original plan reveals how great a divide exists between religion and relationship. God originally intended to extend His heavenly Kingdom on earth through mankind. In this plan, His purpose was to establish a family of sons, not a household of servants.

In the 8th. chapter of the book of John, Jesus makes a clear distinction between servants and sons: John 8:31   To the Jews who had believed Him, Jesus said, “If you hold to My teaching, you are really My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of any one. How can you say that we shall be set free”? Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

Jesus basically said, “Sons are members of the family, but servants are not.”   That tells me that God meant to establish a Kingdom of sons, not subjects. In addition God’s purpose was to establish a commo-nwealth of sons, not members of a religion. Religious people have no rights, but legal people do. In Jesus these precious rights are conferred to everyone who trusts in Him, according to   John 1:12   Yet to all who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God – children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.        Wow! Now if that isn’t the description of being a “born again” Christian, I’ll eat my hat. Also, this is an exemplary truth behind Jesus’ parable of the prodigal son, who had decided to return home, hoping to be received by his father simply as a hired servant. Upon his arrival, however, his father greeted him with joy and open arms and restored him to his rightful place in the family. The father wanted his son back not a servant.

Do you yet see the truth of the matter; man was created for dominion. Try this one on for size. Psalm 115:15   May you be blessed by the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth He has given to man.   Are you a King on earth or have you abdicated? Note, this does not indicate one “smidgen” that we have rule over other human beings. He created all, all, to rule and to not be ruled over.

At the same time, it is truly amazing how many kinds of things we allow to dominate us. We are supposed to have dominion over plants and yet how we allow plants to rule over, and ruin, our lives. Coca leaves from Columbia, tobacco leaves from Cuba, grape juice and grains used to make liquor, coffee, cigarettes…. We are all subject to all kind of vices that rule over our appetites as well.

Now, let me step all over your toes. Most believers talk about going to heaven when they die. Although that is true, God has made arrangements to make sure that we don’t stay there. Aw, now, come on, Bro. Dick ! If we stayed in heaven, God’s Word (scripture) would fail, because He has plainly stated that He created us to have dominion over the earth. God’s Word can never fail. Lets look at Isaiah 55:11   As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is My Word that goes out from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I send it.

My friends, if God says He created us to exercise dominion over the earth, then clearly we cannot stay in heaven. God’s purpose for us has always been that we dominate the earth. Our tendency in the Church is to over-focus on heaven.

The King of the universe has given us an earthly mandate. That is why He has made arrangements to ensure that believers who die now will return to the earth with the Lord. God has even made arrangements for new bodies…..         It is called resurrection.

Now, don’t tell me that this is new to you….. you often pray it to Him: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, —– thy will be done, —– on – earth —– as – it – is – in – heaven.

OK Kings…. Back to our authority. Our authority in this realm is so complete that God Himself will not violate. I know that this statement will make some of you wonder how I could make such a bold statement. Bro. Dick, isn’t God sovereign and can’t He do whatever He wants? Yes. But take note, I did not say that He can not violate, but, that He will not violate it.

Look at it this way. Just as the word of an earthly kingdom is law and cannot be reversed, so is the word of the King of the Universe. His word cannot be reversed. In the book of Genesis we have seen that God established the law that man was granted absolute responsibility for the earth realm. Man was commissioned to rule over all of God’s creation. Take note, I did not say that He cannot violate, but, that He will not violate it. Man was given the will, the wisdom, and the authority to carry out this command. Lets check it out.

Genesis 1:26   Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, in Our likeness, and let them rule over the fish – the birds – livestock – all the earth – all the creatures..

Two of the most important words ever spoken by the Creator are contained in this verse.            Those words are, let them.

By these words God established a law which gives only to mankind the legal authority to exercise dominion and control over the earth. Interestingly, He did not say “let us,” but rather “let them.” If He had said “let us,” then He would have provided access by Himself to earth anytime without violating His Word and thus be co-ruler with man on the earth. But by saying “let them,” He locked Himself out of the earth as a spirit being.

This, then, is the answer to the erroneous question too often asked by the non-believer: “If God is so good why did He let this or that happen?” God will never break his word nor violate His principles.

Yes, God is and remains absolutely sovereign, but He has chosen to limit His activity or intervention on the earth to that which we, the proprietors, give Him permission to do. Bro. Dick are you brash enough to say that we must give God permission. Yes. And, just how do you think we do this. By prayer. By prayer. You want scriptural evidence of this just remember the sixth chapter of the book of Daniel. The earthly king Darius issued a statute and established a law that anyone honoring any other God but he, Darius, would be thrown into the Den of Lions. King Darius could not revoke even his own law.

The second passage is of John the Baptist having to lose his head. The king, Herod, in a drunken state made a promise to his daughter her, a gift of anything she would ask. She requested John’s head on a platter. He, the King, made a decree and could not revoke his own words.

The bottom line, my friends, God needs a body to get His will done on earth. Not because we are great and holy; but because He sent his only begotten son to offer us keys to the Kingdom. One of those keys is prayer. By the power of prayer we can arrange to get God’s power into our earthly realm. Jesus gave us that key when He told his disciples, and therefore us, Matthew 18:18 “I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in My name, then am I with them.

Augustine, one of the early Church Fathers, once very succinctly wrote, “Without God we cannot, without us God will not. ”That sounds to me like as if we want God to interfering, we need to keep on praying. Prayer is serious business. You might say that prayer is our “faxes” and “e-mail” and “text messages” to Heaven.

Well, time has escaped me the clock is laughing. So let me end by repeating myself, as I often do. I mentioned earlier: There are over 6 billion people on planet Earth and only a few of them know why they exist. What a tragedy! Who is man? Why was man created? Why was he put on this planet? What is he to do? When will we realize that we are the crowning act of an intentional Creator. We exist as God’s co-regents Now, there’s a word we don’t use too often. Lets look up its definition: one who governs a kingdom in the absence or disability of a king. See…Noah Webster knew this all too well. I wonder if he prayed a lot ??

So, until next Sunday               same time             same station   remember:                                 America Bless God (with prayer)                   and                 God will Bless America
