Synopsis of  Josephs on the Mountain

(Radical Remnants on the Mountain)

We’re about to slice a piece of the bread of life, the word of God. Today’s slice will come  Living Bible     Isaiah  2:2      In the last days Jerusalem and the temple of the Lord will become the world’s greatest attraction, and people from many lands will flow there to worship the Lord.  3  “Come,” everyone will say, “let us go up the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Israel; there He will teach us His laws, and we will obey them.” for in those days the world will be ruled from Jerusalem.  4  The Lord will settle international disputes; all the nations will convert their weapons of war into implements of peace. Then at the last all wars will stop and all military training will end.  5  Oh Israel, come, let us walk in the light of the Lord and be obedient to his laws!

I would hope that you remembered when I began teaching on …. The Seven Mountains of ….. government – economy – media – entertainment – education – religion and family.  We discussed as how these are the seven topics of conversation these days spoken of with disdain. What did today’s passage just tell us…. The temple of the Lord will rest on these mountain tops. Where is the temple….. that’s us…. we are his temple. The Lord will settle international disputes

Wake up temple….. wake up church…. stop sitting and praying that the Lord will come and fix everything.  For the last few weeks I’ve been speaking of the Lord placing coats of many colors on those of us who will accept the job. Today’s Josephs ( or Radical Remnants) are being called and being thrust out of the four walls of the church and into home “churchin,” and …..the market place.

About the seven mountains of culture…. years ago, Loren Cunningham of Youth With a Mission and Bill Bright of Campus Crusade for Christ were on the way to meet each other when God gave each of them a revelation. The Lord told them that there were seven “mountains”  or  “mind-molders” of society. He promised them that if God’s people could capture these mountains, they could capture a nation.

On September 29th, 2008 a remarkable thing occurred. This being the Jewish celebration of Rosh Hashanah,  the first day of the Jewish New Year, the stock marked dropped a record…. get this….. a remarkable 777.7 points.  Throughout the bible the number 7 is a number relating to spiritual completion.

God then began giving another, Pastor Johnny Enlow, further  revelations and insights on  wanting His people to ascend these mountains. Pastor Enlow saw, in his spirit, a revolution of “Elijahs” who would invade these sectors of society, not to control them by force but to displace the ruling spirits there and transform society with the blessings of God’s kingdom

Then in December of 2008 God spoke again to Pastor Enlow saying that we were entering a seven year period of plenty, a time when God’s “Joseph’s”  would rise up on the mountains of society. Pastor Enlow said, “I believe that during the first three years of this seven-year period Joseph’s will be going through a period of rewiring by the Lord during which He will produce the new wineskin in them so that they can handle the new wine that is coming. My friends I believe we are in  that remarkable season where God is going after nations in an unprecedented way. God relishes the opportunity to show who He is.

Using the story of Joseph of the Book of Genesis, the seven years of plenty followed by seven years of scarcity that Egypt lived through, as a parable for those times as well as a prophetic message for the time we are living in and what God is about to do. As God did in Egypt, He will be raising up a Radical Remnant who are being called not to just save their own necks but to save society itself, as Joseph did back then.

I believe that during the period of 2008 and today’s 2015 God has been placing His people on those mountains of culture, including the United States of America. In fact, Sue and I have had the opportunity to meet s few of them at conferences we’ve attended. But, believe me more is to come.

Whether we perceive God as good or not good can be based on the circumstances we go through. He can only be tasted or seen by intimacy through the spiritual realm because He is spirit. Notice, I did not say He is a spirit, I said He is spirit! But then, so are we. We are a spirit, we have a soul, and we live in a body. If you have any doubt of this simply read the Virgin’s Mary’s Magnificat.

My friends, look closely; the church today is grossly infected with the influence of Mammon. That which represents the church outside of four walls will survive and that which represents the corporate church, which were once called “white sepulchers” by Christ, will dry up. We can fool ourselves about where our heart is and whether we have sought the interest of the kingdom of God first, because we pay Him off like some kind of mafia boss with our tithe toward the infrastructure of a church edifice.       Yes Lord, “Let the shaking begin.”

Recall also, it was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith – for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. WOW! Abraham was a Radical Remnant !  In other words, when Abraham finally arrived in the land of promise, he never settled –he was like one who realized he needed to remain mobile because something more was out ahead of him. Like Abraham, what we are willing to leave behind can become what actually defines how we will live in the future.

JOSEPHS ON THE MOUNTAIN

(Radical Remnant on the Mountain)

Good and joyful morning to all Christian brothers and sisters on this the day the Lord has made. Pull up a chair, pour yourself a cup of coffee, or tea, or milk, or whatever is your favorite…. We’re about to slice a piece of the bread of life, the word of God.

Today’s slice   Living Bible version.

Living Bible     Isaiah 2:2 In the last days Jerusalem and the temple of the Lord will become the world’s greatest attraction, and people from many lands will flow there to worship the Lord.
I would hope that you remembered that I began with this verse in past messages when I began teaching on …. The Seven Mountains of Culture in this country….. government – economy – media – entertainment – education – religion and family.

For the last few weeks I’ve been speaking of the Lord placing mantles…. that is, coats of many colors…. on those of us who will accept the job. I have been calling those of us willing to wear this coat of many colors…. Radical Remnants.

The title of today’s message is “Josephs On The Mountain.” Perhaps it could be “Radical Remnants on the Mountain.”Today’s Josephs ( or Radical Remnants) are being called and being thrust out of the four walls of the church and into home “churchin,” and …..the market place.

Surprise, today’s third slice of the word of God comes from :

Hebrews 12:26   When God spoke from mount Sinai His voice shook the earth, but now He makes another promise: “once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.” this means that the things on earth will be shaken, so that only eternal things will be left. Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be destroyed, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping Him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a consuming fire.

If you have been listening to my messages in past years you may remember that I have spoken many Sundays about the “Seven Mountains of Culture” or “The Seven Mountain Prophecy” All of this has been about those subjects we complain about most when we see the condition of the lack of morality being taught and even forced upon us. Let me refresh your memory of how all of those messages came about…..

Years ago, Loren Cunningham of Youth With a Mission and Bill Bright of Campus Crusade for Christ were on the way to meet each other when God gave each of them a revelation – a “Seven Mountain Strategy” for shaping a nation. The Lord told them that there were seven “mountains” or “mind-molders” of society: namely, government – economy – media – entertainment – education – religion and family.

And how long did it take God to complete the creation of the earth… 7days.

God then began giving Pastor Johnny Enlow further revelations and insights on these, wanting His people to ascend these mountains, and also the favor He is going to give them for doing so.

Back in 2008 Pastor Enlow said, “I believe that during the first three years of this seven-year period Joseph’s will be going through a period of rewiring by the Lord during which He will produce the new wineskin in them so that they can handle the new wine that is coming.

Let me read to you Habakkuk 1:3 “Look among the nations and watch – be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you.”

My friends I believe we are in that remarkable season where God is going after nations of the world, including ours, in an unprecedented way.

I believe we are seeing the shaking of turmoil – God is not afraid of the times ahead; He relishes the opportunity to show who He is. We, His Joseph’s (or Radical Remnants,) do not need to be afraid of the times ahead. God is inviting us to join Him in the amazing work He will do in these times.

I personally believe that although the message of that story of Joseph is based on that time frame it contains certain principles that are good for today. I believe that during the period of 2008 and today’s 2015 God has been placing His people on those mountains of culture, including the United States of America.

In fact, Sue and I have had the opportunity to meet s few of them at conferences we’ve attended. But, believe me more is to come.

God desires to be close to His people in a way we will probably never understand until we see Him face to face.

If we don’t learn to subjugate the voice of Mammon, the voice of the Lord will cause us to reap the consequences of our idolatry.

Now lets go back to September 29th, 2008 with a stock market drop of 777.7 points. That is what started the recession of the year 2008. Was God possibly involved with that as He was with Joseph in Egypt. Remember, He forewarned the King of Egypt of the 7 years of plenty and then the 7 years of famine. That was a shaking of the earth in those days.

I believe the Lord is confirming more and more that we need to invest in relationships with the Lord . Our “Lone Ranger” culture of “me-myself-and I” permeates the church…. That’s me and you.

The Lord is not only wanting us be build relationship with Him but with each other. That which represents the church outside of four walls will survive and that which represents the organization only, which were once called “white sepulchers” by Christ, will dry up. Yes Lord, “Let the shaking begin.”

One of the names of God, in the Bible is Jehovajirah, which means “The Lord our provision” Only Jehovah Jaireh, has financial security built into His name. That is the central instruction of Matthew 6:19-21:

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there you heart will be also.”

We can fool ourselves about where our heart is and whether we have sought the interest of the kingdom of God first, because we pay Him off like some kind of mafia boss with our tithe toward the infrastructure of a church edifice.

Yes there is a shaking coming. I do believe it has begun. But remember that after the 7 years of plenty there came 7 years of famine. Those who garnered during the plenty years with a heart to share in the 7 years of famine were blessed by the grace of God.

So, as God rescues our economy, should He decide to do so again, do not fall back into the same error. The next time will be much more costly. What makes me say that? Lets look at Haggai 2:4

Haggai 2:4 -7 + 14   Take courage, all you people still left in the land, says the LORD. Take courage and work, for I am with you, says the LORD Almighty. My Spirit remains among you, just as I promised when you came out of Egypt. So do not be afraid. “For this is what the LORD Almighty says: In just a little while I will again shake the heavens and the earth. I will shake the oceans and the dry land, too. I will shake all the nations, and the treasures of all the nations will come to this Temple. I will fill this place with glory, says the LORD Almighty. 8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the LORD Almighty.

It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith – for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. WOW! Abraham was a Radical Remnant !

Let us focus on the unique faith Abraham had that helped him leave a secure settlement and a known life to engage a new life without a known destination. “He went without knowing where he was going” are words so powerful they almost overshadow what comes in the next verse. Verse 9 the writer of Hebrews says, “And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith – for he was like a foreigner, living in tents.”

In other words, when Abraham finally arrived in the land of promise, he never settled – he continued to live in tents like he was only passing through. Here is Abraham, our Father of Faith, being described as a man who finally made it to the land of promise, yet he continued to live like a foreigner in a tent. He was like one who realized he needed to remain mobile because something more was out ahead of him.

Like Abraham, what we are willing to leave behind can become what actually defines how we will live in the future. Abraham took the results of his faith with him when he stepped forward toward the promise God had revealed to him. When Abraham arrived in the land of promise, there was more and he needed to be ready to move toward the “more” when God spoke.

Abraham’s faith was foreign to those around him. He was looking at something they could not see. If we choose to live a life of faith we will draw looks of suspicion from those around us who have chosen to settle and not see a new and emerging future.   Foreigners living in tents, by the very nature of their existence, make the status quo nervous because…. what a settled life has to offer is no longer appealing to the tent dwellers.

I have had to ask myself lately where I have settled into a good and blessed life at the expense of hearing a new word for a new season. These new words can shake up our current reality. God is in the process of making significant adjustments in the encampment of His Church. God wants to free us up to be available for supernatural mobility.

As we step out in faith and let go, God will be asking us to exchange hard structured lives of security for foldable tents of faith so that He can bring us into our promised destiny.

In seasons of change and transition, where we face uncertainties and the unknown, we are invited to cross thresholds that we have never crossed before. While some may tend to deny it, anxiety can run high in seasons of uncertainty, and negative emotions can surge through us in torrents and cause us to experience a certain amount of pressure that we aren’t quite sure we can handle.

Yet, we need to learn how to encourage ourselves in the Lord in such seasons and cultivate the gentle spirit of child-like trust in the goodness of God and move forward in the measure of faith He has apportioned to us.

I feel that we are coming into a time and season where we will begin to see clusters of “divine confirmations” as we keep moving forward. All of us realize that we “walk by faith” and not by sight; and at the same time, all of us long for meaningful confirmations in our circumstances, our spirits, our minds and imaginations, and our dreams.

As the clock warns me of the time may I check the “Three Little Words” from the book of that same title. Today’s message calls for me to read today’s three words as, “Answer The Call.” And the verses that match it are as follows:

PROVERBS 3:5    Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

PSALM 37:3    Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

PSA 84:12    O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

So until next Sunday          same time           same station

I pray that this message is not just a warning of the coming shaking events but an encouragement that we will be taken care of during these events, IF… IF…                       we “Dare to Believe.” and to say to ourself….

“I believe that in this season of life, I will not be left out. I am included in the outpouring of God’s favor and miraculous provision. Something is turning loose deep inside me and will manifest in the natural, not many days from now. This is my season to build a memorial unto God for His glory. I shall believe a thing and it shall be established in the name of Jesus.”
