Synopsis of  The Year of the Man

Today’s slice of the bread of life, the Word of God, comes from a passage about the calling and the commissioning of the prophet Ezekiel, Ezekiel 1:1-10:

Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God. In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin’s captivity, the word of the Lord came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was there upon him. And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire. Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man. And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings. And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass. And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings. Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward. As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.

Let me reiterate that there were four living creatures, they had the likeness of a man , and every one had four faces. What were the four faces? An ox, an eagle, a lion, and…a man. Strange as it may seem, I chose this verse because it believe it is appropriate for these times. It is mercy to have the word of God brought to us, and a duty to attend to it diligently, when we are in hardship.

The angels have wings; and whatever business God sends them upon, they lose no time. They stood straight, and firm, and steady. They had not only wings for motion, but hands for action. Many people are quick, who are not active; they hurry about, but do nothing to purpose; they have wings, but no hands. But wherever the angels’ wings carried them, they carried hands with them, to be doing what duty required. They turned not when they went. They made no mistakes; and their work needed not to be done over again. So, why this verse for this time in America; and the whole world, for that matter? Because, as the title of today’s message says: this is “The Year of the Man.”

Where did you get that from, Bro. Dick? From God’s prophets of these days. They have been prophesying on this matter for several years. Let’s recap just the last three years.

Things really began to shake in this nation in 2009 and was seen as the year of the OX, because it was a very hard time due to the resistance to change in the Church.

2010 was the year of the EAGLE! It was the year that the eagle returned to the Son; it was a new beginning. I myself recall rejoicing over the reports I received regularly of evangelism in other lands increasing many fold. The increase of salvations in China was tremendous. The increase of Muslims finding Christ was astounding.

2011 was the year of the LION and things came into order and power.

In 2012 man will be sent to the nations…
