God is One, Three and Seven

Praise the Lord, we’re about to slice a piece of the bread of life, the word of God. And today’s slice comes from:  Rev 1:4  “John to the seven churches which are in Asia: grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven spirits which are before his throne;”      and  Rev 5:6   “and I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.”    and Rev 5:11 “then I looked again, and I heard the singing of thousands and millions of angels around the throne and the living beings and the elders.”  and vs. 12 “and they sang in a mighty chorus: “the lamb is worthy – the lamb who was killed. He is worthy to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.”

Today’s message title is “ God is One, Three and Seven.” We of course know that he is one God in three persons.  Now we find that he has seven spirits.

I’ve been preaching on the series of “Reclaiming of the Seven Muntains of Culture.”  We found that God is expecting and calling us to reclaim the mountains of…. government, media, celebration (also known as – arts and entertainment), family, economy, education, and religion.

These being the powers that rule this nation and declare it’s social climate. It is those areas of our culture that we complain about daily and are now, as Christians, being called to take back for God.

Today I want to recognize that it is the seven spirits of God that will win over those mountains….. through us. Yes, God is calling us into spiritual battle over them. And I plan to show how the seven mountains of culture are akin to the seven spirits of God. I’d like to continue with that thought in… the book of genesis to examine how the seven mountains of culture were present in the garden of Eden.

Lets look closely at the fall of man Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, “yea, hath God said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” Here came the mountain of media, turning good news into bad news. Yes, Satan always deceives through his media talking with a forked tale…. That is t.a.l.e.

And then vs. 3:2  “….and the woman said unto the serpent, we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 and the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall not surely die: 5 for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as Gods, knowing good and evil. 6 and when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes,”

There came the mountain of celebration (also called arts and entertainment) ….“pleasing to the eye” And that it was… pleasant to the eyes,  a tree to be desired to make one wise,

Then comes the mountain of education. “I can do it all by myself because I have the brain, I have the knowledge, I have the experience….. No need to pray over this. After all God gave me the gifts of intelligence. We don’t need to bother him with prayer, we’ll just run this country our way.”

vs 7    “….and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Here the mountain of religion enters. We can either repent or we can try to hide. Guess which one works and which one does not.  .

I believe you can now see where this message is going. So…. enjoy.
